The Wedding

waiting... wishing...

Remember the Christmas when you were a kid...

When there was one present in particular

you were really hoping to get.

And you were pretty sure it was under the tree.

And you had to wait...

it wasn't time to open presents yet.

There was still dinner to be eaten,

church service to attend,

and adult conversation to sit through.

And your thoughts kept coming back to that present

and how LONG it was before you could open it.

THAT'S what the baby-wait

feels like today.

Dad

Cody packs
in the last five minutes
before he needs to leave for the airport
or before we take off on a weekend get-away.
He does it so often that he has it down to
a pretty quick ritual.
The baby is due in a week.
I came home from work today to find Cody's
duffel bag packed...
ready and waiting.
Just like he is.
I am so excited to see him hold his son!

Naked Dog

It's a terrible picture of Lucy.
She kept running from the camera and she looks so sad.
I think she is embarrassed of her new haircut.
The groomers cut it SHORT this time.
Part of the reason was we were several weeks behind in her
grooming appointment - and her hair really needed a trim.
Another reason was the gum stuck in her toe hair
(I should have suspected something when the lady asked
me if we had other kids besides the
obvious one in on-the-way).
I think she thought she was doing me a favor
since I won't need to be back for awhile...

Light at the End of the Tunnel

I got the above picture from Cody's mom
and had to share it with all those who
know and love Lucy.
Also - the title fits well with the fact
that our c-section has been changed
to the morning of June 3rd.
(11 days to go!)

Party!

My co-workers suprised me with a cake
and a baby shower this afternoon
at work.
The cake was YUMMY!
Thank you everyone!

Impatient

The little spinning baby countdown says 17 days to go.
Nine months is really not a long time
but 17 days seems like forever.
I want to walk without waddling,
sleep on my tummy,
give up the back ache, heartburn,
constant looks from strangers,
and wear pants with a button and zipper.
More than that,
I want to meet Baby K,
hold him,
rock him,
kiss the bottom of his feet,
smell the top of his head,
listen to him breath when he sleeps,
and see if he had Cody's nose
or curly hair.

I just want him here...
17 days to go.
